"Poyang Lake Basin Water Engineering Safety and Resource Efficient Utilization National Local Joint Engineering Laboratory" was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission in January 2016. It is the first national scientific research platform of Nanchang Institute of Engineering and the first national scientific research platform in the field of water engineering safety and resource efficient utilization in Jiangxi Province.
"Engineering Laboratory" is guided by major economic and social needs such as ecological water conservancy project and its ecological function evaluation, safety monitoring and warning of water project, application integration of information technology of ecological hydrology and water resources, prevention and control of soil erosion and ecological restoration in typical erosion source areas, and "major water conservancy project" and "green" in Jiangxi Province. Starting with the opportunities of "sponge city", "ecological civilization construction" and "one lake clear water" construction of Poyang Lake, we should gather and train innovative talents in the industry, and strive to build a leading domestic ecological water conservancy project with distinctive features, advanced equipment and scientific management, water project safety, ecological hydrology and water resources, and typical policy sources in the south. A technical research and engineering application center integrating soil and water conservation and ecological restoration services has been set up to provide a high-level service platform for water resources in the Poyang Lake Basin, which can coordinately solve key technical problems in planning, design, construction and management of ecological water conservancy projects.
"Engineering Laboratory" will lead the development of the discipline of water engineering safety and efficient utilization of resources in Nanchang Institute of Engineering. As the leading discipline of water engineering safety and efficient utilization of resources, it will lead the school's hydraulics, ecology, surveying and mapping engineering, geotechnical engineering, geological engineering, landscape engineering, port and navigation engineering, architecture, planning, underground engineering, etc. With the rapid development and integration of mechanical engineering, computer technology, applied economy and other related disciplines, four major technical service bases, i.e. knowledge source area, technology diffusion area, academic exchange area and information service area, have been built for water engineering safety and efficient utilization of resources. The focus is on scientific and technological innovation in the following directions:
(1) ecological water conservancy project and its ecological function evaluation;
(2) water engineering safety monitoring and early warning;
(3) application integration of eco hydrological and water resources information technology;
(4) soil erosion control and ecological restoration in typical erosion sites.
With the support of the National Development and Reform Commission, Jiangxi Development and Reform Commission and Nanchang Engineering College, the National Laboratory for the Safety and Efficient Utilization of Water Engineering Resources in the Poyang Lake Basin is developing rapidly, and the scientific research force and personnel are growing. At present, the laboratory has a professional laboratory of 3000m2. The total value of instruments and equipment is about 30 million yuan, including more than 140 large-scale instruments and equipment.
